[Sid´s Workshop V2]

This painting was inspired by Sid’s room from Toy Story (1995), one of my favorite childhood movies. 

Even back then, I felt drawn to Sid The strange kid sitting alone in his dark room, creating disturbing hybrid creatures by cutting off his toys’ heads and limbs and mounting them onto different bodies. 

Sid is often misunderstood because we only see him from the toys’ point of view, where he appears to be cruel or destructive. From a human perspective, though, he’s simply experimenting, transforming, and inventing stuff. A child expressing his imagination in a darker, less socially acceptable form. 

In a way, I feel more like Sid today than ever before.
